How It Works

  • What is the difference between resurfacing and full replacement?

    Resurfacing adds a new resin layer over an existing base that is still structurally sound. Full replacement is needed when the base has moved significantly, failed in multiple areas, or is holding water. The specialist confirms which applies after the base inspection.

  • What happens if I delay getting the base checked?

    Surface cracks and drainage problems tend to worsen over time. A base that is borderline suitable today may require full excavation in twelve months. Catching movement early keeps resurfacing on the table as an option.

  • Do I need planning permission for a resin driveway on a front garden?

    A permeable resin bound surface generally does not require planning permission under UK rules, because it allows rainwater to drain through rather than run off into the road. An impermeable surface on a front driveway over five square metres does require permission.

  • Why is preparation so important for a resin overlay?

    The resin bonds directly to the prepared surface. Loose material, unfilled cracks, or damp patches beneath the overlay break that bond and cause the surface to lift or delaminate. Preparation time varies with the condition of the existing driveway.

  • How are costs broken down for a resurfacing job?

    Inspection, surface preparation, patch repairs, and the resin bound overlay are quoted as separate line items. This means you can see what each stage costs and understand what drives the overall figure.
